he Basque Country is known for its natural beauty, but also for its cities, which combine modernity and tradition in a unique way.
Bilbao: the largest city in the region, is a hotbed of art and culture.
The famous Guggenheim Museum, designed by Frank Gehry, is one of the main attractions, along with the Museum of Fine Arts and the Old Town. Bilbao is also famous for its gastronomy, especially its pintxos and biscayan-style cod.
San Sebastian is the coastal jewel of the Basque Country.
Famous for its La Concha beach and stunning sea views, San Sebastian is also known for its excellent cuisine. The city is home to an abundance of pintxo bars serving a wide variety of gourmet tapas, as well as several Michelin-starred restaurants. It is also home to the prestigious San Sebastian International Film Festival.
Vitoria-Gasteiz, the capital of Alava, is a quiet but vibrant city.
Its medieval old town, along with the modern Plaza de la Virgen Blanca and the Cathedral of Santa María, offer a perfect blend of history and contemporary architecture. Vitoria is also a benchmark in sustainability, with a wealth of green spaces and parks.
Each of these cities has its own character, but all share a deep connection to their culture, gastronomy and history.
